The first Illuminate Yaletown finally took place last Saturday and it was a huge success! The BIA staff thinks that approximately 30,000 people have been attending the event throughout the evening. Can you believe that? I can’t! Thanks for joining us and making this night unforgettable! The 2009 Illuminate Yaletown Photo Contest
On Saturday, February 21st, 2009, light art will illuminate Yaletown starting at sunset at 5:29pm. Photographers are encouraged to take photos and add them to this Illuminate Yaletown Flickr group
Voting will begin on the following Monday or Tuesday with more than $500 in prizes. Prizes will be awarded for best photos by popular vote, best photos by judges selection, as well as “best collection” “fastest uploads.” More details about prizing to follow shortly.

Today I experienced another time that browsing the Internet always affords surprises. I just discovered that Yaletown’s going to be a location for a photography group’s photo shoot. This will be February 21st when astonishing light art will illuminate Yaletown. I can just say that this date is a really good choice to get a picture of Yaletown.
